CCN Team Shines Today at Running 4 Clean Water

Our Creative Communication Network-sponsored team did a great job at today’s 5K race, Running for Clean Water, at O’Banion Middle School in Garland.

I want to thank all the contributors to this event from the First Friday Book Synopsis, who donated funds to support this cause, and allowed CCN to be a gold-level sponsor.  We contributed $1,158 to the event.

Pictured below are the runners.  From L-R, Juli Branson, Karl Krayer, Narcy Gonzalez, Carmen Coreas, Katherine Hernandez, and Elva Aldana. FYI – I did not run – I am a sponsor.

While I am grateful to all of our runners who participated, I am particularly proud of two of them.  Our part-time CCN facilitator and international consultant, Carmen Coreas, trained for, and ran the 5K in just over 40:00.  She is pictured crossing the finish line above.

And, one of our runners, Katherine Hernandez, was #1 in the age 18-29 female category of the CCNKatherineHernandezRacerace, finishing with a 25:19 time.

Karl’s Appreciation for Last Friday’s FFBS 20th Celebration

FFBSApril2017Picture1Last Friday, at the April First Friday Book Synopsis, we celebrated the beginning of our 20th year.  Randy and I were overwhelmed with the many aspects of the celebration, including cards, well-wishes, and above all, strong interpersonal marketing by regulars inviting newcomers to attend.

We received some special gifts.  The beautifully framed and matted picture that you see me reading to the audience was just terrific.  We received shopping money for NorthPark Mall.  We got a complementary dinner at the Park City Club.  And, finally, we received a generous donation to our charity, Running 4 Clean Water.

I am appreciative of everyone’s input, but a special thanks to the team who drove the celebration:

  • Ed Savage
  • Ian Feuer
  • Jim Young
  • Bill Wallace
  • Dan Weston
  • Phil Barnett
  • Russ Hicks
  • Mike Davis
  • Tom Niesen
  • Tom Meyer
  • Bronwyn Allen
  • Nick Barretta

We look forward to another 20 years.  Let’s do this again in 2037!

Donations at FFBS For Charity Race Were Outstanding

I want to thank everyone from the First Friday Book Synopsis who donated to our April charity, which is Running 4 Clean Water, on Saturday, April 29th. Our total donations were $1,158. I am very appreciative. If you were not able to attend the synopsis, and would like to make a tax-deductible donation, please contact me, and I will tell you how to do that, and get you a receipt.  If you are interested in running the race, as of Sunday night, I have six pre-paid slots available.  For information about doing that, paste this link into your browser, but first, please contact me so that you do not pay for a place.

Thank you again.R4CWLogoApril2017

Ready for Running Again? Our April FFBS Charity

Running4CleanWaterLogo2017Again this year, Creative Communication Network is a major sponsor of a charitable endeavor, which is Running 4 Clean Water.  At the April First Friday Book Synopsis, we will solicit and accept tax-deductible contributions.

Last year, our event donated over $1,900 to the charity.  The proceeds from the race go directly to building wells in Sierra Leone, Africa, where over 9,000 people per day die because of the lack of clean water!

The actual 5K race is on Saturday, April 29, at O’Banion Middle School in Garland.  The school’s address is 700 Birchwood Drive, Garland, Texas 75043.  The race starts at 8:30 a.m.  That race is followed a fun 1K race.   We are looking for interested runners to be a part of the CCN team this year.  R4CW2016CCNTeam Pictured is our 2016 running team, along with Karl J. Krayer, President of CCN.  Four of the runners won medals for one of the fastest times in their respective divisions.

To get information about running in the race sponsored by CCN, or to make a tax-deductible donation as part of the CCN contribution, please contact us at:

CCN Team Runs Well at R4CW – 2016

A big thank you to all of the donors from the First Friday Book Synopsis that made contributions to this event, which is to dig wells and provide sanitary water in Sierra Leone, Africa. More than 9,000 people a day die because they do not have access to clean water!

I am pictured below with our team, which won four medals in the various races.  Layne Faulkner (L) and Carey Perez (R) were first place finishers in their age categories.

L-R with their finishing times are Jennifer Milinksy (30:45) / Carey Perez (29:19) / Me / Janine Summers (30:36) / Tricia Lathen (30:17), and Layne Faulkner (27:37).  Carmen – we missed you – sorry you were ill.

April Synopsis Has Major Charity Sponsorship

Our April First Friday Book Synopsis features our first charity sponsorship of the year.
