The New York Times has published its list of best-selling business books for December, 2019. This month’s list includes some new books, and a few long-time best sellers. Of the ten books on the list, after our January, 2020 session of the First Friday Book Synopsis in Dallas, I will have presented seven of them, and my former colleague Karl Krayer presented one other. So – eight out of ten of these best sellers have been selections at our monthly event in Dallas.
On this month’s list, there are only two books written by women authors: Dare to Lead by Brené Brown and Trailblazer, co-authored by Monica Langley. This, alas, is par for the course.
I suspect that Dare to Lead is the best selling business book of the year – at least, it has spent the most months at #1 on this monthly New York Times list.
When I present my synopsis, I prepare multi-page, comprehensive handouts which all attendees receive, and then I present my synopsis presentation as people follow along on the handouts. I usually speak around 20-22 minutes on each book.
From this month’s list, I have presented Atomic Habits, Dare to Lead, The Infinite Game, Extreme Ownership, Outliers, and Principles. And I will present Trailblazer in January. And my former colleague, Karl Krayer, presented his synopsis of Thinking, Fast and Slow.
